Brian O’Connell, Jr. is admitted to practice law in the state of New York and Pennsylvania. He is one of Western New York’s and Northwestern Pennsylvania's most successful attorneys. Mr. O’Connell grew up in Olean, New York just minutes from The Brian O’Connell, Jr. Law Firm. He attended Olean High School and received his undergraduate degree from St. Bonaventure University in St. Bonaventure, New York and his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law in Syracuse, New York.
Mr. O'Connell has been practicing law since 1993, focusing on serious personal injury and medical malpractice.
Due to his legal expertise, Mr. O’Connell has been sought as a frequent lecturer for Jamestown Community College’s continuing education program. He has also served as an adjunct professor in Jamestown Community College’s criminal justice program, teaching criminal law and criminal procedure. Mr. O’Connell also prosecuted numerous felony cases as a Cattaraugus County special prosecutor.
Mr. O’Connell lives in Olean, New York, with his wife, René and they have three children, Logan, Keenan and Makenna. He and his family actively participate in the community. Mr. O’Connell is a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, a National Irish Club, and was involved in Olean Youth Baseball as a sponsor and coach. Mr. O’Connell and his wife are the founders of the Olean Oilers Baseball Team which competes in the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL), a wood bat development league for Major League Baseball.
Mr. O’Connell is also an avid outdoorsman who loves to hunt and fish with his family and friends.
Logan O’Connell, Attorney at Law, was admitted to the New York State Bar in a ceremony on January 15, 2025 at the Appellate Division, Fourth Judicial Department in Rochester, NY. Mr. O’Connell received a Juris Doctor with advanced certificates in Environmental and International Law in 2024 from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, White Plains, NY. He received a Master of Science in Energy Policy and Climate in 2021 at Johns Hopkins University, Washington, D.C., a Bachelor of Science in Earth and Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies in 2020 from the University of Rochester. Mr. O’Connell has worked as a Congressional Staff Intern for Senator Gillibrand in Rochester, NY, a Parliamentary Intern for the United Kingdom House Of Commons in London, UK, a climate advocacy intern for Tradewater LLC in Rochester, NY, legal intern for the Environmental Protection Agency in New York City, a summer law clerk for Earthjustice in San Fransisco, CA, and a legal intern for the United Nations, Permanent Mission of Costa Rica in New York City. Mr. O’Connell also worked as a summer associate for The Brian O’Connell, Jr. Law Firm, PLLC where he will continue to provide legal services. Mr. O’Connell is currently a law clerk for the Connecticut Judicial Branch Superior Court in New Haven, Connecticut. Logan is a 2016 graduate of Olean High School and the son of Brian and Rene O’Connell of Olean, NY.
Keenan O'Connell is currently a second-year law student concentrating in civil law and trial practice at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, White Plains, NY. Mr. O'Connell graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in History from St. John Fisher University in Rochester, New York in 2022. Mr. O’Connell also worked as a summer associate for The Brian O’Connell, Jr. Law Firm, PLLC where he will continue to provide legal services. Keenan is a 2019 graduate of Olean High School and the son of Brian and Rene O’Connell of Olean, NY.
Kelsey Gardner joined The Brian O’Connell, Jr. Law Firm in November of 2013. Mrs. Gardner is a 2013 graduate of Olean High School and currently resides in Olean with her husband and kids.
Robin Pearl joined The Brian O’Connell, Jr. Law Firm in March of 2024. Ms. Pearl is a 1993 graduate of Ellicottville High School and a 1995 graduate of Jamestown Community College with an Associates Degree in Accounting. Ms. Pearl resides in Olean with her dog Rosie.
